Toshiba Journe Touch
This device is pretty good in hand. Its display also great with clear resistive touch screen for 800 x 480 resolutions with 16:9 aspect ratios and include stylus for non touch-optimized application purpose.
Toshiba complete the device with awesome support of wide range codecs such WMV, DivX, H.264, also include Wi-Fi and easy access to YouTube, Flickr and other community website. Thanks to Internet Explorer which is running on Windows CE 6.0 Pro if you want to browse other site.
This smallest notebook also call the video output produced is absolutely amazing. It can output sub-1080p video over HDMI plug in the dock. The other specification is ARM processor based, NVIDIA Tegra and you will be given 1GB of built in storage. Seems it is not enough storage capacity? You can expand the storage with SD slot or external storage over USB.
You cannot categorize it to the UMPC because it only has very little application flexibility nor the MID because this smallest notebook can give you the fast browsing experience. For this tiny powerful gadget, it will retail for 250 Euro in Q4 2009.
Sharp NetWalker PC-Z1
We are often hear Sharp as trustable brand for home appliance. And now, Sharp has hit the laptop market for achieving laptop user trust. Its smallest notebook is named NetWalker PC-Z1. This smallest notebook really formed as what notebook formed in very small size. It gives 5-inch display screen with 1024x600 pixel resolution. You can imagine how small it is.
Small machine does not mean limited power for boasting your computing work. It comes with 800MHz Freescale i.MX515 processor, 512MB memory, 4GB storage which can be expanded to 20GB if you add 16GB microSDHC card, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, 2 USB 2.0 ports and 68% QWERTY keyboard. This smallest notebook gives Ubuntu 9.0.4 for Operating System. This device can accompany you for about 10 hours . Great battery life time but you cannot replace it with another battery.
This gadget is sold in Japan for 44,800 Japanese Yen or about $480. And will enter the US Market in September 2010 although it will be sold in Japan at 25 September 2009.
Smallest notebook would be the most important gadget for mobile person. It will help them to be more effective and productive. But however, the smaller space from the smallest notebook can limit its specification, especially in processor and hard drive. When you have a lot of data to bring with you anywhere, you should invest more in external storage.
